uDevGames 2008

Contest Highlights

The uDevGames contest is iDevGames’ unique grass-roots initiative to highlight our community to gamers, as well as a development platform capable of producing the most innovative cross-platform titles in the industry. Here’s why uDevGames has become the Mac gaming event of the year:

  • Source code from all entries is released back into the community.
  • Fantastic prizes are awarded to motivate developers to do their best.
  • Anyone can enter using any development tool that produces double-clickable, native Mac OS X applications.
  • The contest produces a wide range of free games for players to enjoy.
  • Gamer participation is encouraged through feedback and play testing.

uDevGames 2008 Winners

uDevGames 2008 was launched on December 2, 2008 and ran for three months. Public and peer voting kicked off on March 5, 2009, with twenty developers vying for prizes totaling over $20,000. The source code for all entries will be made available to the community under an OSI open source approved license. Developers will also be submitting postmortems for their games, providing interesting insight as to what went wrong and what went right with their uDevGames 2008 entries. iDevGames would like to thank all of the sponsors from uDevGames 2008, without their support, the contest would not have been possible.

And now, iDevGames is proud to announce the winners of uDevGames 2008…
