Brutally brilliant Unity2D lead game play programmer - SLICg - Mar 15, 2014 06:10 PM
We're looking for somebody to lead Unity2d programming for our new game which is a reinvention of Scrabble. Ours has a bigger board, more tiles, and some other twists.
We're a team of 5, who along with you, will hire an RV and go on an adventure in the desert together for two weeks around mid April to hack the game out around the clock. We'll pay all your expenses (eg RV, food, beer etc), and will give you an equal stipend to what we're paying the rest of the team (to be determined). With some success of the game itself we're hoping this turns into a full time job for all of us.
We're based out of Mountain View CA, and would prefer it if you were close by. This would make going on the adventure together easier, and give us a chance to get to know each other first.
This is about having a great adventure, meeting new friends, and drinking a beer around an evening campfire - but of course getting the work done too.
As part of our product pre-marketing we have a punk band (with pink mohawks!) recording a song for us, about our trip etc, with a verse about each team member. They'll be a verse in the song about you too.
Please know the difference of when responsibility is needed, and when a good time to slack off is, and of course always be looking to have fun.
The ideal person will love words, punk, dogs, beer, flatulence jokes, and of course anything geeky.
The crappy part. For a speedy response please forward your resume, and links to any games you've worked on to email@example.com

This is one of the strangest and interesting recruiting pitches I've seen. :-)
You guys will either end up writing a game, or killing each other.
