Torque, Power Game, Quartz - renman3000 - Jun 9, 2009 10:32 AM
Hi, for building 2D games I was wondering which of these (im not even sure if Quartz counts) is best for game programming?
I understand beauty is in the eye if the beholder, but I thinks that each person may have their own preferences and way. So I am doing a bit of a survey, please contribute if you can.

It's pretty much a guarantee Quartz would be a bad idea. You'd use OpenGL.
Alright... sooo.... it depends on what you want to do. Comparing OpenGL (or Quartz) to using Power Game is beyond comparing apples and oranges. If you don't want to do 95% of the work, you use something like Power Game, but in return, you're giving up flexibility. With OpenGL, you do 95% of the work, but you have all of the flexibility you want.
You need to think about that question by investigating the different tools and APIs a bit first.
