Why some games are forbidden? - riruilo - Jan 5, 2009 04:12 AM

Hi friends!

Where can I find information about what Apple likes and dislikes?

I would like to create a game which has questions about politics and religion but I would not like Apple forbiddes my game like iBoots.

Is there any apple doc that explain this?

Thanks a lot.

What's "iBoots"? I googled a little and only found iBoot, which is a linux loader. It's no brainer to guess such app will never be approved.
I don't know if there are any docs, but the rules are simple:

- You must not use anything that's illegal or breaks any law.
- Don't use private frameworks.
- Don't do anything that can trouble Apple. Don't do anything that can somehow steal their money.

But there's still actually a lot of discussion. I wonder if I can make my own improved keyboard, or other alternative way of writing (Graffiti and the like). I guess I can, but not quite sure about it. I wonder if there's an email I can write and ask them about it.

In regards to religion and politics it seems Apple's unstated policy is as long as it is pro a choice and doesn't represent anti-other-viewpoints it is acceptable.

Oh, I see. Then its reasonable, too. Nice idea, but obviously too much like porn.

I don't want to make something illegal. It has no sense as Apple can do whaever. For that reason I ask whare can I find an Apple document talking about this questions.

Thanks for help.

Read "iPhone SDK Agreement", section 3.3 "Program Requirements for Applications".

riruilo: I assume that your location being "Valencia" means something like Valencia, Spain, not Valencia, USA. The US culture is well-known to be far more conservative on publicly "exposed" sexually oriented material, than European countries. Sadly, no it doesn't make much sense, but it's not culturally acceptable here to jiggle boobs, even in most cases where it is only going to be logically purchased by an adult. Sad

iBoobs looks great though Love , and I do not personally find it offensive at all, but it does immediately strike my "oh no, you can't do that here" nerve.

Thanks a lot AnotherJake, you are very helpful.
Yes, I'm in Europe, Spain. I didn't know there is "another" Valencia in USA Smile

I guess there are cultural differences, for me it is important as I don't want to start something that is goinfg to be forbidden.

After I finish my little engine, I will ask you a few questions about "cultural differences".

Thanks a lot.
