It depends on what you want to do.

Jump into iGame3D
It was made by noobs like you, well mostly.
Try PlayKode, it could always use some new beta testers, and its free for now.
This page at Apple might help guide you, and helps me not list all the other game engines.
Game Programming Wiki has some advice

major in this:
learn to program and design software.
Make friends or become proficient in art, music, and writing.
here are some cool books:
A wonderful book about why we find games fun.
Granted Scott McCloud is a comic book guy, but I really recommend reading his book Understanding Comics The amount of knowledge you can gain about story telling from this book is exceptional... a story is always a pretty nice thing to have in games. Making Comics is also a great book.
The main thing is you are going to need to learn an applicable skill(i.e. programming, art, writing) other than just having great ideas for games. Most people who are proficient in programming are creative intelligent people and usually have plenty of ideas of their own. But they may not be very good writers or artists, so they might need help doing these things.
Maybe ask yourself this question: are you more interested in designing characters and worlds? or are you more interested in the game play of a game?
And if you want to be involved in every aspect of the process then you need to learn all of these skill or find some good friends who want to help out (I prefer people who I can talk to face to face, but online friends might also work)
