Hey, I was wondering if anyone here has done one of these? I need to do it, and I was wondering how long it usually takes, and if there is any risks of losing data?

It takes as long as a standard installation (if I remember correctly) because it just renames your old stuff then makes a new install. All the technical details can be found at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120.

If possible, I'd make a backup anyway of all your important stuff.
