How to make a succesfull game: violence - Najdorf - Nov 3, 2005 09:15 PM

I decided my next game (not the one for OMG, the one after), will "try" to be the most violent game in history. Probably ragdolls, but with so much blood spurting around that after a while you will be flooded in red stuff. arms, legs and heads ripped off and flying around. If it's not already gotten, it's going to be called "blood".

You see, there is something in virtual violence that people just love. It pulls out your filthiest instincts, something we all have inside but have calmed down and repressed. But it's still in you, just waiting for a chance to get out. And for the modest fee of 5 or 10 dollars, we'll give it that chance.

Though probably I'll have to put some serious measures to restrict the game to majors, or I'll risk getting sued to hell Ninja .

if you want some inspiration play the original postal, by running with scissors thats a pretty messed up game. and if you like side scrollers take a look at madness interactive, flash arcade game, no story line and slightly timid due to the use of stick figure like people, but still very violent anda pretty cool game concept, kinda reminded me of abuse.

Just do what every site does, and ask if they are old enough. Who cares if they lie. They'll get it anyway. You can still say that you tried to keep it away from them.

Then when Jack Thompson comes to your door, you can stomp on him Mad.

Dunno, if there's one thing JT never seems to lack, it's ambition.

Sounds a bit like Dr Cote.

The whole violent games movement is pretty annoying. I don't like to see blood just to see blood. I like to see blood to make the graphics more realistic. You said, "It pulls out your filthiest instincts," and that's just not true. Porn does that.

I'd like to see more overly violent games, but don't expect me to pay $5-10 just to see some blood and gore. I want to see some nice physics and gameplay mechanics.

Wow, what kind of twisted alternate reality do you inhabit where sex is "filthier" than killing?

USA? Wink At least that's what the media self-censorship tends to think there...

Yeah kill dr cote was great, prolly the "red paint" was important for it's coolness. Maybe justin had my same idea.

Though no suffering, I dont like suffering, screams of pain... I've seen mel gibson's passion and though only one guy dies, it was by far the most disturbing movie I've ever seen and it was a struggle to see every minute of it. No other movie made it even close.

Kill bill was very "violent" but there wasn't much suffering, that's more the kind of violence I'm thinking of.

Though I wont even get close to some masterpiece like GTA

I think it sounds cool, but what style of gameplay do you plan on using? Will it be 2d or 3d? A true murder simulator may be the only way to make it as bloody as possible.
