Free Cinema 4D CE6 - DudetheCreator - Jan 21, 2005 05:13 PM You can get Cinema 4D CE6 for free. Just get a trial version and then go here: (not sure if it's still running...) http://maxon.net/jumps/prog/ce6_us_macaddict.html [EDIT by Steven]Warning - may not be work appropriate, etc[/EDIT] Free Cinema 4D CE6 - igame3d - Jan 21, 2005 10:28 PM C4DCE used to be XL6 (circa 2000) I wonder how well it runs in OS X. its available in Computer Arts Magazine which may or may not still be on the news stands. I couldn't find a CE download anywhere on maxon's site, and its been 5 years since I used XL6 so I don't know what feature it has, or doesn't have. A free poly-reducer of C4D's caliber is surely a want, so I guess I have to head to the book store tomorrow and see if I can pay $13 for my "free" software. Maxon dropped out of the consumer market for the last four years or so. Maybe Cheetah3D made them rethink their strategy. Free Cinema 4D CE6 - Leisure Suit Lurie - Jan 22, 2005 10:51 AM I though iGame3D scared them out of that market. Free Cinema 4D CE6 - igame3d - Jan 22, 2005 11:07 AM Could be... I wish it had inspired them to make a game IDE with their cool tech before I started this mad mission. Free Cinema 4D CE6 - SethWillits - Jan 22, 2005 11:27 AM Well, I did it. I have no idea whether I'll actually like C4D. Thanks for pointing this out. Free Cinema 4D CE6 - Frank C. - Jan 22, 2005 02:13 PM Don't bother with CE6... I've been a long-time C4D user (since before version 5) and currently have XL7 installed, but I only occasionally use it for rendering nowadays. Believe it or not Wings and Blender have better modelling and animation tools than XL7 (for game-type stuff anyway). Don't get me wrong, C4D probably has the best UI out there, but you'll need v9 to get decent polygon tools. I couldn't justify upgrading when free stuff proved to be a more than adequate alternative. Free Cinema 4D CE6 - SethWillits - Jan 23, 2005 11:28 AM I can't see where to actually download CE6 though. This seems kind of useless...
