Quick updates to site - Carlos Camacho - Aug 4, 2010 06:09 PM

* There's a 'normal' Contact link on the front page
* There's a news submit on the front page
* Large background image was removed
* Features and Site Menu were moved up (right side)
* Donations link moved back to Site Menu (was in menu bar)
* 'Books' still shoots you to Amazon, but that page is updated
* Announcements link added to menu bar, it grabs all posts from some key forums and creates a kind of 'portal'

ToDo...
* Working on Downloads section (I see some of you have been downloading my test files... naughty naughty)
* Finish forum template
* Place forum feed back on front page
* Install BuddyPress to expand social/groups/profiles of members
* Image of the week
* Add Twitter features someone asked about
* World Peace
* Make Google Ad in forum smaller

I would have done more had my AC not killed my Mac's power twice!
lol

If you go to your User CP, and click Profile, you will be able to set your Twitter account name.

Example:

Have to agree with that.

Here's mine, though I've been pretty quiet of late. Maybe that's a good thing:
Tweet tweet.

lol. Yes, something like that.

You can see an example at:
http://www.idevgames.com/author/ccamacho

That page (i.e. any contributor's author profiler page) will be getting improved. I want to connect it to the Member's profile page of our new social networking section and tie it into games that devs have released, along with forum profiles, etc etc.

I've done a good amount of updates to the sites as of late... some you can see, some you can't and some you will 'soon'

>you're doing a magnificent job!
Bribery will only get you more free books (to review)
LOL

Please note that I will take down the forum either Sat or Sun to upgrade to the latest version.
Wow, we have 1,105 subscribers to our main site feed.

In the meantime, time to start adding back all the images the site is missing.

Thanks,

When I log out and try to log back in, I get a MyBB error:
Code:
MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

SQL Error:
1054 - Unknown column 'remember' in 'field list'
Query:
SELECT uid,username,password,salt,loginkey,remember,passwordconvert,passwordconverttype FROM mybb_users WHERE username='KittyMac' LIMIT 1

Sorry about that. Looks like I failed to remove a plugin from when we migrated from vBulletin. I just logged out and logged back and it worked fine. Let me know if it doesn't for you.

Thanks!

I have updated the code highlighter (Geishi) to all language latest profiles. (i.e. Obj-C, etc)

RE: Quick updates to site - Carlos Camacho - Aug 26, 2010 06:45 PM

* I have added our Twitter icon to the front page
* Added new book review to site (Thanks Mark!)
* Pruned old banned accounts from spammers
* We now have Twitter and Facebook fields in user profiles. Be sure to fill out yours. I'd like to try to integrate it so that the little icons for those sites appear under your 'Position' field when posting.

RE: Quick updates to site - Carlos Camacho - Aug 28, 2010 06:28 PM

* FaceBook icon added to the post put under 'Position' (Under your avatar)

RE: Quick updates to site - Carlos Camacho - Sep 1, 2010 06:32 PM

* News postings
* SEO improvements
* Pruning spammers and banning *.info addresses. Does anyone know ligament companies that use this domain? I've just removed 30 spammers using such emails.
