Check out Orx is an opensource game engine with support for pretty much every platform out there. I used it in an iPhone/iPad game in it works great.

The Oolong game engine is a 3D engine written in C++, and gives brilliant performance.

GLBasic if you want to flex those basic musicles.

Unfortunately, I think the development environment is Windows-only, but it does create iOS apps.

x2d is my new wip engine:
it's pretty similar to orx but written in modern c++ with stl and boost.

Great iPhone game engines given on this post but as per the my best iPhone game engine concern I would like to say that Unity 3D is one of my best game engine. Thanks for sharing nice iPhone game engine.

Gamesalad seems to be the best for me since programming isn't my best skill for developing games
