Even if you're not required, you should write one!

Here's a review I did on Flying Sweden.

RE: Flying Sweden [uDG 2011] - WillMiller - Oct 4, 2011 05:26 AM

Thank you so much for the review!

On a side note, I played the hell out of Netherworld on DOS when I was younger. I loved the surrealism of that game. I didn't know Jukka Tapanimäki had passed away though. That's a shame.

How DARE you build a Globen for that reason only!
I would destroy you if it weren't for that nice review! >:I

But seriously, Thanks.

Hahaha! Sore about that loss, are you?

The music is Jupiter (from The Planets) by Gustav Holst and Requiem by Mozart.

Now I can go home and tell my music teacher I did pay attention in class.

hehehe We always want to remember that because normally you beat our asses (although not this year hehehe). I fought and suffered. I fought Odin, I fought Danes. My mouse hand was sweating. But then, finally, I got to build my own Globen!

Jeah, that was sad. He was such a positive character and a genius.

I really wanted to use only Swedish composed music for the game, and I found some great pieces (Joseph Kraus is awesome!), but couldn't find public domain recordings of them. I don't even know if that mattered for this contest, but it doesn't hurt to play it safe.

The intro / boss battle piece is a heavily edited version of Anton Bruckner's Symphony no. VIII, Mvt. IV, if your curious.

Wasn't Holst of swedish origin?

He probably shopped at IKEA at least once though.

Definitely loving this game. I think it's got all the right factors to be a hit on the iPhone too.

We're planning a much more ambitious version of Flying Sweden for PC, Mac and iOS. Taking a short break (too many other great uDevGames to play!), then we'll get right on it.

Would you care for some opinions from a swede? There are a few things that could be... different?

Flying Sweden 2: Flying Norway.
