2d dynamic tiling texturing

Hello everyone,

Im currently looking into the best way to use points in an array to draw a shape and then texture that shape with a large tiling image.

Currently im using texture 2d to draw other assets as sprites in locations and sometimes tiling but square. So im wondering whats the best way of going about making 2d textured vaired shapes such as landscape.

The texture2d class from Apple only draws rectangles, so you will probably have to learn OpenGL in order to make the changes you need. I'd suggest getting a copy of the red book (The OpenGL Programming Guide; a 1.x version is fine) and "The C Programming language" by Kernighan and Ritchie.

You could also look into cocos2d and see if that will fit your needs.
