Web Sharing died
For some unknown reason Web Sharing has stopped working on my 10.5.6 laptop.
I've tried rebooting and no effect.
I've tried stopping and starting Web Sharing and it comes up telling me it is on and the link to use but still I get a Failed to open page error.
And yes I have tried searching on the internet but I just keep getting stuff about OS X server and its web server.
This happened to me once before and I cannot remember a) what I did to fix it, b) what I entered into Google to actually get a relevant answer.
Additional Information
I have checked the log and get this:
Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?
1) Repair disk permissions
2) Create a new user account and see if it works there
3) Archive and install OS X

Option 1 and 2 did not make any difference.

Is it working if you try to access it from the server itself? i.e. visiting http://localhost/ in a browser? That should at least tell you if the problem is with the network or the server.

It looks like Apache crashes on launch.

Apparently because it can't find _apr_socket_sendfile. A little googling turns this up, which may be easier than a reinstall of the whole system.

That did the trick! Thanks, you have saved me a lot of time by preventing the need for a system reinstall.
If there was some star rating system on this forum then you would now have 5 stars.
Glad it helped
