iDevGames forum word cloud
Hi all,
I just was given a link to a site that generates word clouds from any block of text or RSS/Atom feed. I stuck in the URL for the iDG forum - the results is at http://www.wordle.net/gallery/wrdl/548839/iDevGames
Sadly, MMORPG did not feature as highly as I thought it might.
It's interesting that iPhone seems to feature higher than Mac these days!
Cheers
- Iain

Thats where the money is.
Games are coming out faster for the iPhone than the Mac has ever seen.
Look at Mac download sites, maybe a new game a week at generally $20 or more.
iphonefootprint says there are 4,381 games for iPhone.
Versiontracker lists 1,889 games for the Mac.
MacGameFiles lists 2541 shareware titles going all the way back to 2001, maybe even farther back than that.
4,252 titles including tools, updates, add ons and demos.

Indeed, looks like everyone jumped on the iphone train and no one is making mac games anymore (good, less competition
)Although of those 4252 iphone games I guess 4000 are crappy.

Well at least it looks like GAME is the biggest word on there.
It's kind of nice to see that thanks is so highly rated. That means we are helpful people.
But what is 46-47?

I'm kind of sad OSC or OneSadCookie isn't on there.
Both "hackish" and "46-47" are from the first post of this thread (which I just read). That site must place a great deal of emphasis on recent activity. It looks like it is smart enough to ignore usernames though.

Yeah, that's really surprising!
Did this thing scan the entire board or just recent activity?

Think its just current, it would be horrible if the RSS/Atom feed fed you nearly ten years of forum posts the first time you access it.
