Just got my MIMO 730 screen today.

It's a 7" LCD that uses DisplayLink over USB (and USB power) to run as a separate screen on any Mac.

What's really cool is that it's got a fast enough update speed to handle the iPhone Simulator. *And* it rotates to portrait mode too (there's also a more expensive touchscreen version).

That's running as a 3rd monitor on a MacBook 2.4Ghz.

Colour and such are better than my poor photography shows. It also has a built in webcam and microphone although that requires you to use a 2nd USB port.

I was looking at those earlier; they look very tempting. Is there any noticeable lag?

Not really, it's clocked as a 62Hz display and appears to be happy running SlotZ Racer (which runs at 30fps) without looking odd.

It appears to be a little slower than the simulator normally runs video, but if anything better as it's nearer the slower speed of the iPhone's update.

Nice review, thanks for writing it!
How about a referral link to newegg? If I buy it, I would like any referral fees to go to idevgames...
