Hi,

I've made 2d game library: "cocos2d for iPhone". It has some nice features like:
  • Scene management (workflow)
  • Transitions between scenes
  • Sprites
  • Actions
  • Basic menus and buttons
  • Integrated Chipmunk 2d physics engine
  • Particle system
  • Text rendering support
  • Texture Atlas support
  • Tile Map support
  • Touch/Accelerometer support
  • Portrait and Landscape mode
  • Integrated Pause/Resume
  • Language: objective-c
  • Open Source

I just run into your library on some other forum. Looks interesting.
However I couldn't find any information about licensing? Is it royalty-free like chipmunk?

And since Apple won't let you link to your own external libraries on the iPhone that means your whole app falls under the GPL. I really hope folks already using this code realize that...

Hey, please, don't spread FUD.

I've no problems regarding LGPL & closed sources games.

It's nice that you feel that way, but you need to amend the actual license text for that to stick. I did a checkout and read the LICENSE file, not the FAQ, so I immediately dismissed your code as unusable for my purposes.

Honestly, if you want more people to adopt the code use a BSD or zlib style license and make it explicitly non-viral. The GPL crazies don't appreciate casual amendments to their philosophies...
