I think I liked the controls- they were appropriate for that type of game. One alternative is to not slow down when your engines are not firing. Escape Velocity worked that way. That could be what he was refering to, but I think slowing down was a good choice. Controls were tight and whatever effects lag might have had were well hidden from me.
This'll probably sound like I'm brushing you off, but oh well…
After playing a bit more(I played it right before bedtime last night) I think i do like the physics one I've gotten use to them. I think the deal with me was what FS said; I was expecting Car physics instead of space physics, and thus was not to awed-out about it. So now, all it needs is some AI, and lots of cool explosions(Not bad for 24 hours of work).

Had Jon put as much time into his as I did to mine, he likely would have creamed us
Is voting still going on or did FreakSoftware win?
The poll is closed which means voting has ended. I guess I won.

I had a lot of fun with this contest. I'm working on adding support for more than two players (currently the max will be 5). It should get interesting.
Thanks for voting.

Yay Seth!

Boo lurkers who didn't vote! ;-) (Seth would have won anyways, but at least the victory could have been more massive!)

Nice work everyone. Congrats FreakSoftware.
Nice work Seth! It's good to see you're still working on it too!
Congrats!
I would have voted for Seth, but since I couldn't run one of the entries nor find opponents/servers for another to really test it, it would have been a bit unfair.
