Hello! I'm new here and I could use some help. I am interested in learning simply how to make a game. I have no prior experience whatsoever. I need to start with something simple, such as Tic-Tac-Toe or Pong. So I was wondering how I should begin doing something like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gee golly, if only there were a thread that exists to answer this exact question...

Anyway, this question belongs in Game Programming Fundamentals, not Design.

I'm glad you're willing to start small. My personal suggestion is that you check out Processing. Follow some of the tutorials on the site. It's simplified Java with easy game-specific libraries.

yep; the search button is your friend. You'll find that this question has been asked many, many times over. Check out the sticky called 'so you want to make a MMORPG' also, since it has good beginner advice in it.

Good luck! Game programming is a lot of fun Smile
