I found this a while back, and it is a great site. easy to understand too.
Haha I checked out the introductions for os x and it went like:
"you'll notice that this is linux but it's ok, just imagine I'm on a mac... so you get the install cd for mac and rumors say there might be some special developer program, well install it and you're cool.
Now you can edit my demo code with some text editor for mac not that I know about any but i guess there should be at least one!
Now to run the program go to the terminal and type a bunch of exoteric commands, some voodoo with the makefile and you maybe will get it to work ("I'm not familiar with any Mac IDE either soooo... you might just have to manipulate the raw bytes".)
And THAT's basically how you setup 3d programming on Mac OS X!
I'm sure it's good for Opengl but you can't say they're OS X gurus

I feel like I have been misled. So what is this OS X 10.Ubuntu that I am using?

Anything, anything a all!
Actually, the mighty mouse is running ubuntu, though apple's pretty hush about it.

It's not magic, it's Ruby.
We got a coffee maker thing at work that is running some kind of linux distro.

Think you missed the point there, and yes OS X is based on Unix but OS X can not run Ubuntu (without emulation), Macs can run Ubuntu though.

Uh, what does that mean?
It means you were talking shit before, and now everyone's poking fun at you.
I am clueless; where did I go wrong? Mac OS X does have a Unix core, right? And can't any(computer) run Ubuntu?
So then what does this mean?

kodex was just being sarcastic and making fun of the people Najdorf was paraphrasing, who apparently think Mac OS X is no different from Linux (and may even have a text editor!! or so I hear)
Mac OS X has passed unix certification. Ubuntu runs on most i686 and amd64 computers. The two facts are not in the slightest bit related.
