Quake3 Mapping Tools
Anyone know some tools to make maps for q3a?
(hopefully ones that work and dont crash every 3 seconds)
thanks.

GTKRadiant.
ugh it crashes for me with this message:
The program 'radiant.ppc' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)'.
(Details: serial 3235 error_code 1 request_code 129 minor_code 1)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
(radiant.ppc:1046): GdkGLExt-CRITICAL **: gdk_gl_drawable_gl_begin: assertion `GDK_IS_GL_DRAWABLE (gldrawable)' failed
crashdump[1097]: radiant.ppc crashed

Radiant works for me. Try their forums and get some help. AFAIK it's the best program out there.
Are you on an Intel Mac, ed? I have a sneaky suspicion that PowerPC X11 programs don't like the Intel X11 server. You might be able to fix it by installing XDarwin (the Apple X11 is pretty horrendously broken).
Of course, chances are someone's already discovered this, and as Seth says, the answer may be on their forums
