I thought I would make this tool I made available incase anyone needed it. It seems to occasionally produce warped .objs but works most of the time. I suspect that my 3 channel image code is buggy and it needs to be a 4 channel source image. So I would use PNG source images. I also haven't tested it on PPC, though it is a UB.

It has a cocoa interface and is very fast at producing files.
