3D work
Hey,
I was doing some 3D graphics today and I decided to share them with the rest of you. I'll keep on posting here when I have something I wanna show.
Tell me what you think.

"When you dream, there are no rules..."
I like the second one, but perhaps you could make it better by having the window reflect the star field and have the metal partially reflect the star field. (sphere mapping should work fine)
The lights on the cup look quite well, but your texturing & modelling need more work. Also, you should enable full anti-aliasing when working with transparent textured objects.
Yeah the models could be a lo better, texturing too. The fact is that these renders were a test to see how close I could get to photorealism.
I will take a look at he anti aliasing, that should get rid of the sharp edges.
I'll work on a model and once it's done I'll post it here.

Photon mapping is very good for photorealism with light passing though liquids or reflecting, it can model caustics, like what you see on the bottom of a swimming pool.
Sir, e^iπ + 1 = 0, hence God exists; reply!

OK. That one rocks. Add the screaming face dude somewhere.
"Yes, well, that's the sort of blinkered, Philistine pig-ignorance I've come to expect from you non-creative garbage."
Just wondering, but what 3d app are you using for the renders?

The Pepsi cup:
Looks like it was not rendered but created with radiosity? Is that correct? The shadows are very soft. Nice. Some things to add to that image. Add some ice cubes, and condensation on the cup. I would also alpha-mask the label accept for the Pepsi circle and text, so allow for the ice, fizz, drink, etc to show through.
One tricky aspect to rendering a cup/mug with a liquid inside:
If you study your next drink, you'll notice that the edges of the liquid don't meet the inside of the container at a 90 degree angle, rather the liquid slopes a bit up on the edges (concave?) Adding that is a nice little touch.
Lastly, I think the glass cup is a tad too thick. I would thin it down some, and also make the top edge a bit rounder. It seems that it starts off round on the outside and finishes at a sharp edge on the inside (the lip)
Spaceship:
Only the Anakin's wife seemed to have a spaceship with only ONE texture.

Wow, checkerboard floor! I haven't seen that since my Amiga days
Keep up the good work!

C4D, looks like we both use the same 3d app, thats sorta why I asked. The renders look was very familiar to say the least.Do you hang out at any of the c4d forums? I'm on c4dcafe.com almost always(under the same name).
BTW, I like the marching hammers.

I didn't use any radiosity, the only setting I kind of changed was anti aliasing. I will consider improving the Pepsi glass, adding ice cubes and stuff, perhaps making more complete scene etc.
The spaceship was a quick render, it was a test to see if I could get the lightning correctly, not to see if I could make a realistic spaceship. Maybe in the future I'll take my time to model and texture a real badass spaceship

I am a member of C4D Cafe but haven't posted anything on their forums. I have been watching to a lot of video tutorials, especially those about particles.
And yes, C4D is such a wonderful application.

If you need any help on anything game related(like texture/UV mapping, baking or character modeling) drop me a line.I've been using C4D for 3 1/2 years now.
