In my opinion, REALbasic is very good if you need results quickly. I use it mainly for proof of concepts, but I often find it useful when I need a quick little utility or helper app. As for games, REALbasic is perfectly suitable for simple or mildly complex games, especially 2D sprite-based games. It can even be somewhat suitable for 3D games just as long as things don't get too heavy (ie, massive memory read/write). Just don't expect to get any type of "high performance" out of REALbasic itself.
