Rendering solution.
Hello folks.
I'm look'n for a texturing and rendering program for 3D models.
It can be anything except LightWave or Carrara 4 Pro.
(LightWave doesn't import, Carrara....
)
And it has to run on Mac os 10.2.8
I've looked around and am still look'n...
If somebody could give me a few that would be nice.
Thanks!

I was going to list Cheetah3D and Cinema 4D until I realised you said 10.2 only. Looks like you're getting shut out of some of the best software.
Try Blender - it's free and rather powerful, although it's a bit hard to use. I've been using it to texture models for a game, and it's rather good for this purpose once you figure it out.
There's a plugin for Blender called Yafray which I imagine improves the rendering quality (although I haven't tried it).
Oh, one other thing... for my real job, I use FormZ. I'm moving away from it for game modelling purposes, but it's very good for very large, complex models which need to be as accurate as possible. Its renderer is pretty good if you put a lot of effort into making it do what you want.

I just bought Panther used for about $25. I think that would be a good thing to do for you aswell. Opens up a whole new range of possibilities..
Edit: not directly an answer to your question, but at least it broadens the choices you can make.
I'm checking out cheetah3d right now. Very "Mac-like" and easy. I like that. Make Blender seem like a scary giant now, even though I used it for some things before.

I checked out Form•Z
It seems nice... but this YafRay thing... Can it integrate with Wings?
(if so... I could stay in Wings and render in it... although it has memory leaks I'm pretty sure)

Yafray is pretty nice, and yea, it can be used with Wings. However, I wouldn't bother. Blender is much better all around, and has a lot more capabilities. A lot of people knock Blender for being hard to learn, but that's not really true. In fact, I find Wings to be a lot harder to use than Blender.
I could swear I put that Blender doesn't work on my mac...
needs min of 16 VRAM or it freezez three seconds after you start it. I have 8 VRAM.
I was wondering how I could render stuff in Wings in YafRay?
I might need version x but I currently have the latest Jaguar version.

You may have luck changing your monitor to 16 bit thousands of colors before you start up Blender.

Im still going to use it, if I can.

In short.
Blender does not work at all when I start it up normal.
It lasts for a few seconds if I change the depth and color lower.
Just found out that yafray is Panther+

Anyway, I am looking at Pixie for the time being.
(command line just like YafRay)
I had trouble with libstdc++ meaning it's probably the binaries were compiled on Panther-Tiger.
I'll try a compile it myself but I'm pretty sure it works on 10.2.
I would like it if Wings had a better texturing interface.
(it's to hard to make Shaders in Pixie but I have no choice...)

There's always Persistence of Vision, which according to the site supports 10.2.8. It's another command line / source file based renderer, a bit like Yafray. Several modelling applications can export PoV files (sadly, Wings isn't one of them).
Actualy I did look at Pov-ray and decided not to.
It's not command line it's a scripted renderer that does have an interface.
(Pixie you use Terminal.app while Pov-ray you double click their application)
I'll look into Pixie but untill then I'll be on a vacation...
Untill saturday

I think if his head was
with Carrara, it would explode with Blender. :
3D rendering... It's a toughy even if you have the hardware, I've played with a few software in the field and I can't really like any of them. Which is pretty sad. How about Shade3D, one that I actually haven't tried yet.

Yafray doesnt work on my computer 10.3.9, The installer wont work (Its not built for 10.3.9). Is there any other free photon mappers that I could use?

I think POV Ray is a gorgeous renderer. I don't think it actually does uv mapping though. Although you can model with the scripting language, it wont help you make a detailed human head for example. I know Meshwork exports POV Ray, as does JPatch.
I think Mac Mega POV is a better version than the official one. It has some friendly little 'wizards' to generate scripts for you.

"Yes, well, that's the sort of blinkered, Philistine pig-ignorance I've come to expect from you non-creative garbage."
WOW!!!
I like those cloths and http://megapov.inetart.net/demo/particle.mpg
Definitly going to learn how to use POV now.
