10 steps to making a robot
Make a quad or a cube, extrude it into a leg and foot like so.

From a quad or a cube extrude a shape for the body, scale down the top and bottom.

Oh yeah, that shape was for the thigh, we duplicate it and stretch it a bit for the body

Get the body in place. Scale it and shape it a bit if you have to.

Duplicate the leg and thigh and make an arm, scale this too.

Duplicate the arms and legs and flip to the other side.

After stretching and squeezing a bit its slightly more "humanoid"

This is not the "ultimate robot construction".

Thats really cool, I want a screen saver with lots of your planes flying about around a heightmap with a nice sunset..

Think that would be nice?
Youd only need to change the GLUT example with the paper airplanes slightly.

Sir, e^iπ + 1 = 0, hence God exists; reply!

Looks good. How did you get along with your humanoid modeling?

Buzzboy109-

Youre making some pretty good vehicles! What modeler do you use?

I could put that model into a screensaver.
Might take me a bit to get the animation and look just right though.

Keep trying at the humanoid stuff, it takes time, and lots of ugly
models along the way. If you keep the all you can have an army of weirdo bots.

Did you see the movie robots or the game? If I modeled a bunch of robots
like that I'd think they were all garbage...but obviously the production
people for that movie really love that style.

All I do is start with a shape, and just work from there... I use Wings3D... Is that what you have? And thanks for the complament... Smile

And 3D, I don't think it will go so well for the time being... They still need some work, and how do I make a screensaver out of my models... I would REALLY like to do that...

Well iGame3D has its own screensaver module, so I just save a level from iGame3D, crack open the saver package, drop in the scripts, models, textures, and sounds, and throw the package into the savers folder. Done.

iGame3D is in a bug-infested state right now, just found two more while I was trying to redo This death star screen saver, so I had to go with the old that you can download and pretty you are Red 5.

I have a feeling the newest one might even need openAl components, gonna have to talk to Tobi about that. The old one above doesn't. Dig around in the package to see how its made. The 3D models in are in meshwork format, which we don't use anymore, and one of the bugs I found was importing those, damnit!!!
