Hiya,
Over the weekend i was working on a new version of Zelda ~
"Zelda Twilight". Being that im a big fan of the Zelda series I
have decited to design my own version "Zelda Twilight" will
take what we fans like about the Zelda series and add in alittle
twist of thing of danger and more of challenges . I'm
also going to upgrade the Zelda design as seen in image below,
by doing this i hope to add an extra flavor to the game

I strongly recommend that you either don't call it "Zelda", or you make it very easy to change the name later somehow (i.e. $name type variable). Otherwise when it gets good enough to actually release and/or sell as shareware, you'll be kinda screwed

Also, seeing that the upcoming Zelda has been subtitled "Twilight Princess" you'll probably bump some heads.

You can always make your game an homage- lovingly recreate the gameplay with some new faces and storyline. And like Dan said, if you do that and it turns out good you can sell it.

Mac gaming could really use a LTTP-esque game, though. Keep us updated for sure

you are just asking for a copyright problem, you have better rename it and the characters now... and accidently release a hack from another site that changes the name and all the characters back to zelda names

It's great to see a Zelda-like action game for the Mac - there really isn't one!

But don't call it Zelda, and don't rip off their tile sets. Create all new ones with your art style, but keep the fun gameplay... maybe introduce some of your own ideas.

I think that with the high resolution possible on computers, a 2D zelda esque game could allow for greater and more detailed worlds. Tons of graphical possibilities

they always think of the good names first .... dang dang, not a problem
will ajust accordently (sinaster voice) they will not get the upper-hand
this time....

Well, to be fair, no one was really aware of it until about two weeks ago.

Yeah, but seriously, what are the odds of him picking that name without knowing? Crazy. Just in agreement, you should come up with your own art. That tree, those walls, etc, are straight out of existing games. I definately foresee a problem with putting out a game like that. Otherwise, can't wait to see the final piece. Cheers.

For what system?

If it's GBA then I saw it about two-three months ago.
(if it's for Revolution or GameCube then I havent' heard of it.....???????)

Zelda the twilight princess is the name they gave the Zelda game for the gamecube. Loads more screens and movies where released along with a name for it at E3.

What self-respecting gamer can say (right now) that they haven't heard of the new Zelda: Twilight Princess? It won X-Play's Best New Game of E3 award afterall.
