Will Core Image help to make games? Is it like a graphics library? I want to know if this is something that could be used to make games.

Think of it as a real-time(-if-your-graphics-card-is-good-enough) set of Photoshop filters.

I imagine you could use it to make a board game look snazzier, maybe more easily than openGL.

Probably useful for simple intro screens & in-game menus.
