App store payment currency
I noticed from https://developer.apple.com/iphone/news/ you can now set what currency you get your payments in. Does anyone know how this will affect conversion rates etc? Or will it simply save your bank charging for the conversion?
no one? hello?
I don't understand what it's for. Does it mean the wire fees will be less or something?
I don't have any more information, but I'm guessing (just guessing) that yes, if you currently get charged for foreign currency conversion when Apple deposit your money you may not if you switch to your bank's local currency. You may still be charged international transaction fees though.
I'm lucky to be with HSBC and don't seem to be charged either for international deposits or currency conversion from Apple payments. Very pleasantly surprised when I noticed that.
** I would like to point out that this is all speculation on my part!
