Looks like the little guy flew under the IDG letters and stopped on the side?
i guess the lower part is cover in smoke, anyways, I think we have to work on sketch(s) and pick what's going to be replicated in 3D.

maybe crisco can work a bit more on his sketch?

I like JAS "tittle robot sketch lower part of scan" may workout?

I thnk we need to work a bit on the conceps.
in the meantime I'll think about it and try to post a sketch.

Slow day, but I managed to work on the model. I was working on the legs but when I read this thread, I replaced them with rockets. Now, excuse the model of the rocket, it isn't exactly realistic, but consider it as a test.

Can somebody draw me a rocket for the robot, that would be very handy. Also, the particles are just for testing purposes. First I want the rocket done and then I can work on the particle system Smile

Here's the latest render

Looking really good! There's something that's bothering me about the shape of the head, though. I think it needs to bulge out a little bit more right around the bottom of the eyes. Closer toward spherical; it looks a bit too conical right now. I could nitpick some more, but I'd better stop before it gets out of hand. Smile

Hmm. Maybe the arms only look too long in the current position. Could you pose him like in the logo? Maybe that would help you fix the eyes as well. Your problem may be that they are set too close together.

with taxxodiums current render, i beleive the arms should get a more megaman look to them, as in, they should be cone shaped instead of just cylinders,a cone starting at the shoulder and getting smaller at the elbow and then a cone ending at the elbow and getting larger toward the hands, or with the cone starting at the elbow and getting smaller at the hand... not sure.

Not yet, to do that I would prefer to have the bones setup and I can only do that once the model is done.

I like the drawing, but I won't be able to model it, still too busy with CMD-R.

If somebody else wants to give it a shot, go ahead. I can help were needed.

Apple logos that's a good idea...
maybe a combinations of zeros, ones, and apple logos?

Apple gets really bent out of shape for using their logo. That's why Command-R had the symbol on his chest that he did. (I call it a monkey knot Smile )

I'd avoid it.

Right, I forgot about copyrights. You could make it shoot the command-twisty thing.

Funny, that. I call it a splat... or the command key... or even the apple key sometimes... or even the apple splat. Never realized how ambiguous I am towards it.

I'm a little confused what is happening here with the robots. We have several now? Is one for iDevGames and one for uDevGames? I must have missed it somewhere in the thread, but I guess keep on keeping on if everyone is having fun. Grin

I though it was for the idg website??

Like any of the ideas proposed?
maybe too early at this point, but when we have enough ideas we should call for a vote.
What do you think?

I volunteer to create the 3d version for whatever gets choosen Smile
