I like the fact that when you pick your google number you can search by text strings to make your phone number easier to remember. It's pretty cool, but not something I couldn't live without.

Ya, that was pretty cool. The voice-mail transcription feature sounded neat, but I never had a chance to try it out.

Right now it sucks. It's only slightly better than licking your fingers and inserting them into an electrical socket (to try and chat on IRC using powerline networking).

I had a friend leave me a message and it got all but a few of the words wrong. I expect this will get better over time, but for now it's about the same clarity of those spam messages that try to defeat Bayesian filters by sounding like real English.

C'mon man, give google voice transcription a break. It's so good it even transcribes dog!

That's hilarious! I wish they had spent as much time on English as they had on Canine.

I have an invite, but it's tied to my Google account. Which is too bad, since Google Voice is not available in my country yet...
