Kind of a simple, but neat thing. It's just something I whipped up a few mornings ago. Basically it's a particle system of 100000 particles running entirely in a vertex program. Maybe it'll give somebody ideas.

It's not as complex as the gamasutra article on the front page, but still effective.

Beware: Run it on a Radeon 8500 or higher (or something that has hardware support for vertex programs) or feel the wrath of 100% CPU usage and 1 FPS Wink

W,A,S,D move the camera. Mouse drag pans/rotates.

Yep 1FPS on my NVIDIA MX 2. Nice to see lots of particle though Smile

Hey Tod I've changed AIM handles (lost old password after reinstall) and haven't been in touch with David in months. How goes TW?

TW2 is going pretty well. It's going to be leaps and bounds better than the first one. If you want to chat with me more, my iChat account is tod_baudais@mac.com. I'll give you Davids address there.

I posted "Rain.zip" on the site. Someone was asking. I also posted code so you can see how the display lists are set up.
