iPhone game engine
Has anyone used GameSalad before? I'm thinking about using it to make an iPhone game.

I have started using it but not produced anything as yet.
The support is really good and they answer queries usually within 24 hrs.
There is alot of features still needed, such as 'save game' functionality and openfeint connectivity but if you want to dip your finger into game creation its a good start as it will show you that even without programming skills, developing games is a long long process.
I hope this helps

You guys should really check SIO2, it is alot more complete than gamesaled and give better performance. The SDK is really complete and give you ALOT of info about game programming on iPhone beyond the use of SIO2 itself... The games displayed in the images in the link above comes with full source code and all 2D/3D assets... the SDK itself is a huge learning resource for anybody who is interested in creating games for mobile devices.

I recommend Unity. You can try it out for free, but you do have to pay for the iOS component.
Game Salad is an amazing game engine for game development. It has user friendly tools and variety of game design templates for iOS and Mac developers.
For 2D I'm going with iT2D ($99 now - GarageGames are back!) or Cocos2D (free, but different feature set, less evolved GUI).
GameSalad is pretty cool when you are just getting started, but in my case it got old fast! It was extremely limiting in what I could do.
I recommend learning something like the good old Cocos2D.
If you're looking for a good guide on how to get started, this one is my favorite guide on how to make iPhone games with Cocos2D.
