In the days "before" OpenGL
Came across a Macintosh "hackers" page with all sorts of interesting projects and programs. This is pretty old, but some of you might engine it.

Fascinating! So thats why they called it 2.5D. Personally I'm glad I never had to deal with crud like that. OpenGL has been around since I was in kindergarden!!!
... but it's only been usefully accelerated for 5 years or so now. Before then, it was way too slow to use for games...

I didn't say it was fully accelerated when I was in kindergarten. I'm not THAT young. I'm saying that its first release was about when I was in kindergarten.
