GLCubes problems

When I compile and run the GLCubes source (on this site), it tells me that the pixel format is unusable and nothing shows up. If I comment out the line that turns on hardware acceleration, it doesn't say the pixel format is unusable, but still nothing shows up. I imagine these problems are caused by my using a beige G3 whose video card does not have Mac OS X drivers. Is that correct?

There is a software renderer on OS X, but you need to have a pixel format for anything to work. You will have to change that line from

nsglFormat = [[NSOpenGLPixelFormat alloc] initWithAttributes:attr];

to

nsglFormat = [NSOpenGLView defaultPixelFormat];

which will hopefully return a useable format. You can remove the superfluous code above that line which creates a list of pixel format attributes and then produces a custom pixel format with them.
