Hey everyone!

Just wanted to let you know about an iPhone application programming contest that B/C Interactive is hosting. The grand prize is $1000 cash, an iPod touch, and Xbox 360, and six Xbox 360 games. Also, five runners up are given $100 in cash and an iPod touch.

The contest seems pretty open, they are looking for anything unique and innovative. It's open to a ton of countries as well. It's definitely worth looking into, especially if you are already working on an app you are particularly proud of.

Hate to be that guy, but I call suspect.

If you can make an app that's good enough to win a contest, you can just release it yourself, and make the $1000 plus enough to buy an iTouch and the Xbox 360 plus games in no time.

Quote:7. By submitting an entry in this contest you agree that: (1) your submitted ideas will automatically become the property of BC INTERACTIVE, in whole and in part and without compensation to you, and (2) BC INTERACTIVE can use the ideas for any purpose and in any way, even give them to others.

Hey B/C Interactive. **** you.

I also like the submission instructions, where you build a release version of your app without any kind of special provisioning (like ad-hoc) and send it to them. So in order for them to actually test and run the app they must be illegally breaking copy protection to run your app on a jailbroken device.

Aha, yeah I didn't scour the rules but I knew there had to be something like that in there. Figures.

That's the flipside to iPhone apps being such a crazy market is that it brings out scumbags like B/C Interactive. I'll be really upset if any developers have their talent and their hard work bamboozled by these swindlers.
