hello, im making a crossword app for my dad for his bday, hes partially sighted so im planning to do it in 3d and he can zoom in all over the grid where he likes so im doing it all in 3d with opengl.

i take it there is a font texture somewhere in opengl? if there is would it be possible to map the entire texture over a given square, and would it be possible to shrink things like numbers (you know like they number squares on crosswords)?

i work with source and destination rects on windows with bitmaps, is there a concept like this? (i can already load multiple textures, i got a 3d cube spinning with 6 of them) is it possible to say entire texture to small bit of square and colour the rest white?
