If you liked the informal 24 hour game contests we've had here at iDevGames, you may like this really short contest that's part of the 360iDev conference in Denver, Colorado, USA.

You do not need to be present at the conference to enter. Hoever, do follow these rules:
* Use the theme: this year's theme is "opposite."
* Use iOS. 360iDev is an iPhone/iPad developer’s conference. The game jam is focused on iOS games.
* Start from nothing. (Using frameworks like cocos2d, Unity, or an “empty” engine you’ve built is fine, though.)
* Make something that works. We want to see some playable action by the end of the night!

Here's how to enter... you have until 9am Wednesday (UTC Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 15:00:00)

Here's how to enter - hope to see some entries!

Crap. If I'd had like a day or two notice I might have been all over this. As it is, I need to sleep so that I can be at a 10:00 appointment tomorrow. :-\

Darn! I wish I would have known earlier that it was open to people that were not attending the show - just found out yesterday.

However... I did it!
7 hours from no code to demo-ready game.

Description, 2 screenshots, and a short post-mortem: http://gamejam.360idev.com/nomis/

Will post a video later this week.

Since I started this after uDevGames begun, I think I may port this over to Mac OS X... but it seems like it might be difficult to port the UIKit-heavy nib files I have to Mac OS X. Anybody have suggestions on how to cleanly transition it from iOS to Mac?

I haven't looked into it myself in any depth, but you might take a look at: http://chameleonproject.org/

Here is a video compressing 4 hours of development into 11 minutes.

Featuring commentary by me (hear my voice! oooh).

Also shows a demo of the game at the beginning.

Would it be bad if I made a new thread for it? Wondering if it will get viewed here, or just be buried.
