Hi all,

I have been using Tilen to take a graphic and cut it up into say 32x32 tiles. It works well!, but doesn't take the alpha channel into account; therefore the output files might need to have the alpha channel added manually (swoon! ;-) ).
Does anyone know of a mac based tile cutter that will deal with the alpha???

thanks

Mark

The commandline tool ImageMagick will do the trick. Instructions to sub-divide one image into multiple images may be found here.

Jeff LaMarche quickly scrambled together his own Tile Cutter when he found that ImageMagick performed poorly for HUGE images. His Tile Cutter outputs JPEG files (thus no alpha) - but it's open sourced - so you can modify the source to include alpha enabled image formats if you are unable to use ImageMagick.
